Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues,
I am very pleased along with my Co-Chairs Prof Steven Wexner & Prof Manish Chand to invite your participation in the Sixth Apollo International Colorectal Diseases Symposium to be held from the 13th to 15th March 2026 at Hyatt Regency. As always, we have a star-studded faculty from around the world and India who are leaders in our field of Colorectal Surgery.

The Apollo Hospitals Chennai is a pioneer in the field of Colorectal Surgery. We perform more than 500 MIS colorectal procedures a year. The Colorectal Surgery programme at our centre is one of the busiest in the country. The Institute of Colorectal Surgery at Apollo Hospitals Chennai provides an end-to-end service for all colorectal diseases from Anorectal diseases, Colitis to complex colorectal cancers through a multidisciplinary approach. In line with our chairman’s vision to further subspecialize in the field of colorectal surgery we launched India’s premier quaternary “The Apollo Rectal Cancer (ARC) Programme for the management of Rectal Cancer at the Apollo Proton Cancer Centre (APCC), Chennai, India in January 2024. This programme has become a marquee clinical service for patients with rectal cancer. In 2025, we launched the Apollo Robotic Telesurgery Programme and performed some of the world's first robotic colorectal telesurgery procedures using the portable robotic platforms.

The Institute of Colorectal Surgery at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai collaborates with Medstar Georgetown University Hospital Washington, USA & University College London, UK to create a platform for creating awareness, teaching, training & accreditation in the management of Colorectal Diseases.
